Term 1 Week 8 Learning Log

Monday


We learnt about a new chapter which is about Romeo and Juliet. Many people would have know about the story. We were then work in a pair. Mr Chua gave us each a handout about character analysis. Register 1-10 were told to do Romeo and the rest were given the other specific character. We were instructed to write down the character trait of our own character we were given. Mr Chua let us watch a short video clip of the movie Romeo and Juliet. I wrote down the character traits that Romeo have while watching the short video. After the movie was done, Mr Chua told us to write it down. He then gave a piece of A4 white paper. He said that we need to work out with our partner to do the pair work. We need to combine our individual work and from there, we have to take 4 character trait and wrote it down in the A4 white paper. We also need to decorate it as nicely as we can. This will be graded. We need to hand it up by next Monday.

Friday

In the morning

Basically, Mr Chua gave us back our Qualities of Mercy worksheet. We go through the 4 religion about why their own religion God is merciful. Firstly, Mr Chua told the Buddhist student to stand up. One of them have to volunteer themselves to explain why their religion God is merciful. Its quite long the explanation but we have to respect others religion. That's important. Secondly, Mr Chua told the Christian student to stand up. Like usual, one of them have to volunteer themselves to explain why their religion God is merciful. This also applies to the Hindu's and Muslim's student. We were have to write down in the worksheet that we were given back. After it was all settled, Mr Chua gave us a piece of handout. It was about 'Imagery' based on the chapter of Romeo and Juliet. Mr Chua explain some sentence that could be found in our collated Shakespeare text. We have to write down in the worksheet that were given.

In the afternoon [make-up lessons]

We were told to take our pencil case and literature file and line up outside the classroom. We were brought to the Movers and Shakers gallery. We were given a piece of handout and were told to find a partner. After it was all settle, Mr Chua explain the things we need to do. We were have to work in pairs and answer all the question in the worksheet. We have to search the answer from the Movers and Shakers gallery where basically it was about past time history. After all the answer have been answered, we need to give back the handout to Mr Chua. After everybody have done so, Mr Chua brief us before the lessons end. He reminded us to complete our individual work on the character traits and the pair works, complete the 'Imagery' worksheet and our form about 'update on learning log evaluation for CA1' must be sign by our parents. All of it must be handed in by next Monday. Mr Chua also reminded us about copy other classmates work or post in the literature blog. He does not allow the person to private his or her blog just because of other classmate copy their work. For him, the matter will not settle. He asked, what if the person copy on the other classmates work? For me, it was rather true. If we notice our classmate copy other work in the literature blog, i guess this should not be taken for granted. After the briefing and reminders, we were then released.
